The Suntop Solar Farm is a 189MWdc project located near Wellington, south of Dubbo in regional New South Wales.
Tranex Power Pty Ltd was awarded the project by Bouygues Construction due to our ability to accelerate the piling scope and through exemplary performances on previous projects. The project was completed safely and 60 days ahead of schedule.
The site will accommodate a large-scale solar PV system utilising single-axis tracking and ground-mounted panels, which will generate 395 GWh of energy each year.
Single-axis tracking has been selected for this project to harness the highest amount of solar irradiance, as the panels will track the sun’s movement from east to west each day. The project is expected to generate 395,000 MWh annually, which will meet the needs of approximately 65,000 houses each year.
Tranex Power remains the most trusted power systems provider in Australia, known for completing every project we have started.

Tranex Power delivered the project under a challenging timeframe, actively utilising our Pre-Construction Methodology to plan and de-risk the works before installation. Given the hard ground conditions, testing and early planning were carried out to optimise installation and mitigate potential issues. Through careful execution and proactive management, Tranex Power completed the project ahead of schedule and on budget, achieving a top safety record with no LTIs.
