The Manton Dam Solar Farm is a 12.5MWdc project located near Manton Dam, Northern Territory.

Located approximately 70kms south of Darwin, the Manton Dam Solar Project was developed by Tetris Energy, purchased by ENI, and constructed in conjunction with the Batchelor 1 and Batchelor 2 projects.

Tranex Power was awarded the project by BSR Energy, due to our exemplary project performance on the Batchelor projects and was completed safely and well ahead of schedule.

The mechanical scope included 4,435 piles, 341 NextPower (formally Nextracker) single-axis trackers and 28,420 PV modules.

The Manton Dam Solar Farm will generate approximately 53,000 megawatt hours(MWh) per annum of clean, renewable electricity into the national power grid each year, thereby making a major contribution to Australia’s greenhouse gas reductions. This reduction will be equivalent to taking either 14,700 cars off the road or planting 11,900 trees, producing enough electricity to power approximately 11,500 homes with renewable energy.

Local Engagement

Delivered during the height of COVID, the project required extensive engagement with the local Aboriginal community and a delivery model that could function effectively in a remote setting. Through Tranex Power’s Indigenous Engagement Plan, we supported local employment pathways, bringing Aboriginal workers onto the project - many of whom remain part of the Tranex team today. By leveraging local labour, targeted training, and clear communication, we strengthened capability on the ground while reducing logistical pressure during a challenging period.

Off the back of our strong performance at Batchelor 1, the client engaged TranexPower for two additional projects in the region. Each was delivered in close collaboration with the client, reinforcing our reputation for partnership-driven delivery and consistent execution in remote environments.
